We believe every brand has a human story worth telling. Our goal is to craft visuals and content that not only look cinematic, but stir something real in the viewer — inspiring genuine connection, engagement, and conversion.

Our Secret Sauce - Human Connection

In a world full of noise, we focus on resonance. In a world where AI can create images out of thin air, we choose to do things grounded in reality. We work with brands to create purposeful video content — grounded in real stories, refined visuals, and a deep understanding of audience and intent.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do you only work with specific industries or company sizes?

Not at all. We’ve partnered with a diverse range of clients—from startups and small businesses to large organizations and non-profits. Our portfolio spans food and beverage, architecture, arts and culture, and consumer tech. What unites our clients is a desire to communicate authentically. We believe the best ideas come from curiosity, not from staying in one lane. If you're excited about what purposeful storytelling can do for your brand, you're exactly who we want to work with.

Do you also do photography?

Yes! Our cinematic approach extends to still photography as well. Whether it is striking product photography or professional corporate portraiture, we bring the same intentional lighting and composition to our photos as we do to our films. Check out our portfolio to see our recent work.

Where are you based, and do you travel for shoots?

We are proudly based in the Klang Valley, but our cameras travel wherever the story takes us. Whether your project is right here in Kuala Lumpur or across the country, we are fully equipped to travel and capture your narrative on location. Let us know where you are, and we will factor the logistics into our proposal.

How involved will I be throughout the creative process?

As much or as little as you'd like. We see each project as a partnership, and your insights are essential in producing work that truly reflects your brand. We make sure you're informed and involved at every key stage—from pre-production and creative direction to review rounds and final delivery. That said, we know not everyone has the time to be hands-on. If you prefer to take a step back, we’re more than happy to take the wheel, lead the project, and check in with you at major milestones.

How long does it take to produce a video?

Timelines scale with the scope of the narrative. However, for a standard project, you can typically expect to see a polished first draft within 2 to 3 weeks after we wrap filming. The final delivery date will ultimately depend on the complexity of the edit and how quickly we move through the feedback and approval process together. Need it sooner? Let us know—we can often accommodate expedited turnarounds to meet tight deadlines.

How do revisions work?

We want you to absolutely love the final film. To make sure we get there efficiently, every standard project includes two consolidated rounds of revisions during the post-production phase. This gives us plenty of runway to dial in the pacing, music, and color grading to your exact liking. If a project requires a pivot or major structural changes beyond those two rounds, we can accommodate that at an additional editing rate.

Do we get the raw, unedited footage?

We deliver fully polished, ready-to-publish films. Because our signature cinematic look relies heavily on precise color grading, sound design, and narrative editing, we do not release raw or uncolored footage. We believe in handing over a final product that looks and sounds incredible—one that we are proud of, and that you are proud to share.

How much does it cost to produce a video?

Because every story is unique, there is no one-size-fits-all price. Our production costs are tailored specifically to your project's needs—factoring in the number of shooting days, technical complexity, crew requirements, and post-production.We believe in a collaborative approach. The best way forward is to share your vision and your budget with us. From there, we will design a realistic production plan that maximizes your resources without compromising on cinematic quality.

That's a wrap!

Beyond the Brief

We are filmmakers first. While we love solving problems for our clients, there are some stories we just have to tell—no brief or budget required. Whether it is volunteering our lenses to support the local arts or self-funding documentaries on cultural heritage, this is the work we do simply because we are nerds who love the craft and believe in giving back to the community.

Ba Wang Temple Documentary

A self-funded documentary exploring local heritage in rural Perak near Thai border, currently in the editing room.

SeaShorts Film Festival

We proudly volunteered our production skills to document the 2025 SeaShorts Film Festival, celebrating and connecting with incredible cinematic talent across Southeast Asia.

CNY 2026

CNY 2026 Short Film

For our first Chinese New Year as Motus 43, we couldn't resist putting our own satirical, photographic twist on the traditional Yee Sang.

How We Work

Your Story, From Start to Finish

1st stage

Pre-production

The foundation of a great film is built before we ever pick up a camera. In this highly collaborative phase, we work with you on scriptwriting, storyboarding, and location scouting. By mapping out the logistics, crew, and equipment needs early, we ensure our time on set is focused entirely on the story.

2nd stage

Production

This is where the vision becomes reality. Whether it’s an agile, run-and-gun documentary setup or a lit corporate interview, we bring our cinematic approach to your location. While timelines vary based on the storyboard, a standard shoot typically takes one to two days.
.

3rd stage

Post-production

This is where the magic happens. After filming, we bring your story to life in the editing room. We apply our signature pacing, precise color grading, and intentional sound design to craft a final piece that looks, sounds, and feels incredible.

4th stage

Project Archival

We safely store all your project files and raw footage for 6 months after the project wraps. If you need any fresh edits, cutdowns for social media, or repurposing of the footage down the line, just let us know within this window!

The Motus Edge

Cinematic Color Grading

A great film isn't just edited; it's painted. We don't rely on standard filters. Every project goes through a dedicated, professional color grading pipeline to ensure skin tones look natural, shadows carry mood, and every single frame feels high-end and cinematic.

The Secret Behind "43"

We love the 4:3 aspect ratio so much, we incorporated it into our name. We shoot our projects in 4:3 Open Gate—a technical choice that provides a massive advantage for our clients. It means we capture more of the image, allowing you to shoot once and seamlessly repurpose the footage into traditional 16:9 widescreen, vertical 9:16 for reels, or 1:1 square, all without sacrificing resolution.
